At ArtWorks Studios we offer afterschool and evening classes for kindergarten through twelth grade students. We also offer morning homeschool classes, adult drawing and painting classes, and PreSchool Picasso's mommy and me classes. When we start classes back after Labor Day, we will be creating art pieces for our fall art show at Candy's Confections.

We also offer private lessons and small group lessons by appointment, Artsy Birthday Parties, and Custom Creation Sessions.

K-12th grade classes

My focus for these weekly classes is to teach students about different art materials, techniques for creating great works of art, and about artists from art history. We usually spend about a month or so studying a specific art movement or style while learning to use those techniques to create our own original works of art. Each student is encouraged to express his or her own individuality through the art making process. We will work with various art materials throughout the year including many types of paint, potters clay, and oil pastels to name a few. Classes are $65 a month.

PreSchool Picassos Class

A Mommy and me class for ages 2-5

Our preschool classes are 45 minutes long and introduce your 2-5 year old to the joys of art and visual thinking skills. We draw, paint, and sculpt with different materials while learning about shapes, colors, and famous artists. (Lots of fun for mommies too!) My goal for this class is to create a fun environment where kids can learn about art while gaining confidence in their creative abilities and fine motor skills.

 *NEW* Discover Art Series (6 Weeks) Starts October 7, 2009

This six week class series is designed to introduce your child to the wonderful world of art. It is a project oriented class that focuses on a different aspect of art each week. We will spend each class creating with a different art medium like clay, pastels, or paint. Students will be introduced to famous artists from art history and will learn about different art techniques. Finished projects will include a painting on canvas, handbuilt pottery pieces, as well as others. Class is $95 and does not require a registration fee.

Adult Classes

Adult classes allow each student to create art in his or her own style while learning techniques to expand their personal art style. The Intro to Painting class is a great one for beginners. We focus the classes on understanding color and design principles and then to complete a finished painting on canvas by the end of the four week session.
